I am really absolutely sure that your upload is still not proper. Please checkthat you uploaded the 0.9.1 or 1.0-beta files, and that your FTP client did not report ANY errors.
This error can really only happen, if some files are not up to date or missing.

Garvin

My admin page reports that I'm now running version 0.9.1. I'll try uploading again and then check to see if there are any errors. If this fails, should I try to go to the 1.0 beta?
Thanks,
Peter

The admin page only reports the version number that is indicated in the serendipity_config.inc.php file. So you could upload only that file from the 1.0 beta release, and s9y would tell you that 10 beta is installed, when in reality you're running 0.9.1.
Something like the same applies to you - you seem to still have files from 0.8, but some from 0.9.1...
Try to re-download the whole archive, and deflate it with a good unpacker. Winace is not one of those, use 7-Zip instead or something when you use Windows.

I figured it out! I spent last night reading so much of this message board that I was able to figure out that it was something completely unrelated. In my first problem a couple months ago I moved my Serendipity installation from one directory to another. I fixed all the files but the .htaccess file was still pointing to the old directory. When I fixed this, everything else was fine! I'm going to run it through its paces to make sure all parts of the upgrade went fine.
Thanks!
