Can't seem to get the 'user self-registration' to work

Post by DragonFly »

For some reason, my machine won't let me utilize 'Spartacus'.

So I manually added the 'add_user' event into my plugin directory after having the proper link supplied to me by Garvin.

I thought that I was closing in on the finish line, so with much excitement I grabbed my laptop and tried out the newly installed feature using a seperate email address in order to disguise myself as a 'visitor'.
I just wanted to go through the process to see what others will see.

Well, I'm being ignored by my own site right now :? I got the cyber brush-off. What a crush to my ego!

I registered, as one does, and I read the standard message about receiving an email for further instruction, as one does ... and that was hours ago.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I have missed a step somewhere.
Could this be the crouching culprit? (index.php?serendipity[subpage]=adduser)

Somebody please help me. : :(

Is the PHP mail() function properly set up on your server? Do you get other emails from your blog, like comment notifications? If you don't get these, you'll need to ask your provider to make mail() work. And then you need to specify a valid "From" mail address in your global serendipity Configuration.

Best regards,
Garvin
