Feature Request- Comments Filter- Number of Comments

I would like to request a change for the filter for the number of comments per page on the main comments page.

It would be great if this were changed to a text box allowing user defined input. This way the user can decide how many comments per page and have many more choices than the pre-defined 4 choices and "all". A simple "all" radio button that superceded the text box could be included to offer that option.

While users could change the code to add new pre-defined numbers I don't think that will solve this issue. This is a variable that should be flexible for each time. It wouldn't be useful to have a huge pull down with 50 options for example.

Because I am often dealing with lots of spam (yes I have captchas enabled and forced moderation enabled but they're still getting through) this approach would be so much better. I'm sure others would like to choose the number of comments on their own rather than the pre-defined 4 choices.

Hm, I must admit I'm not so really convinced by this.

Adding an input box and a descriptive text to the interface would considerably enlarge the interface, and make it look much more complicated, IMHO.

Also I don't think people will often enter numbers, but instead use the pagination feature? At least that's what I get when speaking to s9y users.

So unless other people here yell for it, I'd like to put this feature request on hold and suggest you to do a manual code change (it is a 1-line change, as you've maybe already seen to add a new option field)...

So, I hope it's fine for you to wait for some more user feedback on this issue? Since it would really impact the usability of the screen for other people who don't use the manual numbering...?
