Powered by needs option to open in new browser window

Post by joho »

This is not really a bug; sorry if this is the wrong forum. IMHO, the "Powered by" plug-in needs an option to open in new browser window when someone clicks on the link of the image and/or text.

This is a hard discussion point. Anchor-Attributes 'target' are deprecated for XHTML1.1, and this is IMHO right.

It should not be the choice of the blog owner, but of the viewing user to choose how links are opened. All good browsers support middle-clicking or something similar to let the user decide whether he wants to see it in a new window, tab, or the same window.

Personally, I am very much against adding such a feature because it leads in the wrong direction.

Power to the viewers. :-)

Garvin.

I tend to agree, and don't like to "control the user's viewing experience" 8)

But the fact that most people don't have a clue as to what the middle button does while surfing (if anything) speaks for itself.

Like I said.. I'd like this as an option; if I'm the only one, or part of the minority, I'll bow for the powers that be :D
