not able to save entries

hi all,

The server my blog is on has recently had a ?kernel panic? according to my host, and now when I try to save entries it only works if I've typed directly into the entries box. If I paste into it, the page won't save and just flips me right back to the public pages. This also sometimes happens when I try to check user groups within admin.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before, have I done something that can be easily fixed - sorry if I come across as a complete idiot.

That's weird.

I'll bet you're using the WYSIWYG editor, and its Javascript is getting in the way. Maybe it was messed up with the server crash. Perhaps a reinstall is in order.

I've never seen this myself, but as a programmer, I'd try the following PITA workaround:

Type a space into your edit field.
Paste your text after the space.
Type another space after the text.
See what happens.

I can't guarantee the results, but if you're desperate, give it a shot.

Yeah, this error sure sounds weird and like nothing I've heard of before.

You might want to inspect your server's errorlogs to see if something is happening there?!

And of course try Judeberts suggestions.
