Show Specific Category as Default

I want to show a specific category on the main Seren page. Like I have categories A, B, C, and I want 'B' to be the category you see when you first view the blog. I want to keep the other categories separate. Or maybe even hiding specific categories/trees from the main page. Thanks!

You can do that with the plugin "Start Page Category". I also just enhanced it in version 1.1 (available within about 48 hours) so that you can define categories to hide (only with serendipity 1.0-alpha1).
