can new entries be published ONLY in a chosen category . . .

Greetings - can I publish a new entry ONLY in a chosen category and NOT have it published on the front page as well?

Hope this is not a stupid question, but I went through the admin and couldn't find it myself.

Thanks Col - you are 100% right about doing a search first - I have been at it for so many hours that my mind is not working at full capacity LOL

Thank you very much Marc - I'm really lovin' s9y and look forward to really making it useful for our farm managers - they have so much knowledge to share with regards to organic gardening/farming and food quality - spent time testing out different formats and I'm very happy that I chose s9y, it's very well developed and supported.
