A .htaccess password prompt can only come from your host, or if you installed the "HTTP Authentication" plugin for Serendipity!
The upgrade itself has nothing to do with it...what's your URL?

Garvin

*** OK, its still doing it and I dont know why ***
Sorry been away busy...> Here is the Local...> http://alphavenue.com/bloggee/
I remember installing the 0.9 and before that I installed the pear treemenu. Thats when all problems started with access.
Also when I use Firefox sometimes it shows both login screens. ( htaccess and S9y logins). I like your software and would love to keep it going, but if this persists then I will have to change over.
When I use IE it allows access to Blog until I try to login and then it asks for both logins.
I double checked all areas of files and folders and still I can't find anything referring to htaccess hidden file. Its driving me Bonkkers.
Hope you can help...>
Thanks for your time...>

Re: *** OK, its still doing it and I dont know why ***
Did you maybe delete some files?
If I call this URL:
http://alphavenue.com/bloggee/serendipity_admin.php
It tells me that file is not found! But this file should come with every s9y install, did you accidently delete it? Otherwise you shouldn't be able to access your admin panel?
You also seem to be missing a .htaccess file, and configured Serendipty to use URL Rewriting (which is why no CSS sheets are loaded).
So you must delete your .htaccess file, get the serendipty_admin.php file again, go to that panel and go to the s9y configuration to set "URL Rewriting" to "NONE".
The only way you are getting login prompts as popup windows is because of .htaccess or because you installed the serendipity_event_httpauth plugin? Check if that plugin exists in your /plugin/ directory, and if so, delete it.

Garvin

Sorry but Im busy daily *
Yes garvinhicking I was trying some stuff and forgot to up that file back. You hit it right on the money with the serendipity_event_httpauth plugin. I deleted that plugin by way of ftp and all is back to normal. I must have forgot that I installed it earlier and didn't log back in until way later. I was on a Plugin frenzy that dia.
Well anyway thanks 4 your time...<>
