You can also use Technorati's XML-RPC interface to automate this process and ping from within your weblog software. Enter http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping into your weblog tool's configuration for Pings and Notifications. Check our ping configuration page for more information.
What does this means and how do I do it with Serendipity. Please assist. TIA.
Install the "Weblogping" event plugin, it already contains a checkbox for technorati. When you publish an entry, just check the box for technorati, save your entry, and technorati will get its ping!

That plugin is bundled by default with serendipity, in the plugins/serendipity_event_weblogping/ directory!
(It's an event plugin, in case you're looking for it in the sidebar plugin list...)

Which serendipity version do you use? You should use at least 1.0.1, and the problem you have should be solved with version 1.1
The problem is that your PHPs include_path is set in a way that does not properly include PEAR library mixed frmo s9y and your server.
If all fails, you can uninstall the "Anounce entries" plugin by using phpMYaDmin and removing the entry from the serendipity_plugins table?
