Upgrade to 9.0 Problem part 2

Post by DeMiGoBLiN »

I wish to start off by thanking you for what I feel is the best blog engine out there! I've tried quite a few before finding this one and none compared in ease of use and total content.

I upgraded from 8.0 to 9.0 this evening by overwriting everything with the newer versions content. I then went to the directory and it told me I was attempting to upgrade so I clicked and went along with all instructions. It said it was successful. I agreed.

Then I went to my frontpage on my site www.demigoblin.com and all the blog content on there were not conforming well to HTLM code. When I go and edit the entries they show up absolutly fine in the editor, but when I save any new stuff it turns out the same way and it will not resize the entry box either.

Please advise me on how to fix this. I do have a backup of the old, but would like to stick with newer stuff if possible.

Thanks again!

Negative. Right now I'm restoring from a backup I made before changing and didn't realize it was 300MB's so it's taking quite some time. I'm absolutly clueless when it comes to code, php and mysql so I have absolutly no clue what is wrong.

The biggest things I was hopeing to do is actually put a cool banner up on the site rather than just the words "Demigoblin's lair" and also be able to resize the side bars. Might have to get one of these handy coders I work with to take a look.

It was odd though even the comments section was laying out all the code for smileys and links.

Didn't Work

Post by DeMiGoBLiN »

I did the restore and it made no difference. Might have to start from scratch again. Bummer. Guess I'll have to put off the video games for the weekend.

It just won't convert the links anymore. view site for example http://www.demigoblin.com

Your output seems to mike like some Event plugin is interfering!

Please go to your admin panel and see which event plugins are installed and tell them to us.

Doubled plugins can happen if you installed s9y twice into the same DB and path.

Demigoblin: Wiki Markup does not allow you to enter HTML code! You either need to deactive Wiki Markup, or you need to configure that plugin to allow HTML raw code. :)

many people run into trouble using the wiki-markup plugin - it should somewhere display a warning :)

Well, if people use Wiki Markup, they should know what they're doing. People who experiment should think about why they want that plugin.

If I go shopping and see a sign "Buy plutonium here" I also don't just go to the store, buy 1 kilogram of plutonium and a day later complain about it's radiation that's affecting me. Right? :-)

HOLY CRAP you guys kick ass! I deleted Wiki-markup. Great analogy by the way, with the plutonium thing. I couldn't stop laughing for like five minutes. Thanks for all the help. You guys do good work and have build a great engine here.
