email visible in rss reader

Hi,

1) in user profile/advanced options there is a setting "Show e-mail address". If I say no, it still shows in my newsfeed reader like:

by author@domain.com (Author Name) on date - time

Can I suppress the email, somehow?
EDIT: I am sorry, I just found the sidebar plugin "Syndicate this blog" where one can do all the settings.

2) Then, there's a setting in General Settings:

Blog's E-Mail address
This configures the E-Mail address that is used as the "From"-Part of outgoing mails. ...

What does "outgoing" mean? From where? To whom?

When people subscribe to your comments, they get notified by E-Mail about a new comment. The blog's email address is used for such mails!
