Remember me - Not working

Post by Andyman77 »

Hiya,

A bit of a pickle here, for some reason I cannot get the remember me feature to work. I have checked the cookies on my browser and all appear to be correct.

Which browser are you using? Are you using a firewall, proxy cache or some other "privacy" options? How did you configure your browser in terms of cookie handling? Can you try a different browser?

The remember me feature has never been a problem for me - if you like, I can check it on your blog if you give me a (temporary) login.

Garvin

Hiya Gavin,

Silly me, I should have added that info.

I've used Firefox, Opera & IE, they all don't appear to remember.

I do know that the feature does work as I have checked it on a couple of otehr S9y installations. So I think it's something to do with my setup,

This is what my setup is.
I installed the 0.9 Beta 3 build of the 20th (I think)
I had it installed in a folder www/se that was accessable via this URL
www.andyramblings.co.uk/se/
I changed the virtual server to point directly to the /se/ folder so now it's accessable via
www.andyramblings.co.uk

The blog works all appears to work except for a few things, but the remember me is hign on the list as the blog is live..

I'll give you a temp access ... details via PM....

Hi!

The problem is that your cookie Path points to the HTTP URL "http://....". However, a cookie path may only contain a PATH and not a full URL.

This seems to come because you configured your "relative HTTP path" to contain a full HTTP URL string, and not a "/" only. Go to your s9y admin panel and reconfigure that setting.

It might get rid of several other problems you are facing.

Garvin

Many thanks Gavin, The remember me feature is fixed :D

My other picklely problem you may or may not have seen in the plugin forum, is the FCKeditor.
This works great except for one feature and that is when one wants to add a image in or something. When I press on the browse button to get the browse windows just doesn't want to browse my download folder.

Any tips as to what could be causing this ?

I am awfully sorry, but I can't help you on the FCKEdit issue, as I have no experience on that area and can't find the time to investigate it. I would, if I could - but my time is limited. :-(

Best regards,
Garvin

:) I'm glad you take it easily. Maybe the FCKEditor guys are interested in seeing their tool properly implemented into s9y and want to take on the job? :)

I've actually seen FCKeditor once working on my testblog, but never checked out the advanced features like image insertion.

Best regards,
Garvin
