Yahoo opens in new window

Post by aacircle »

Anyone experience the Yahoo plugin opening all pages in new windows? As a default, I have all links opening in the current window. As soon as I use the Yahoo plugin, every single link then opens in a new window.

Anyone know how to get around this?

Thank you.

You mean the "Y!Q Related Search" plugin? That one shouldn't deal with links, at least I see no place in the code. Do you mean a different plugin?

Can you give me an example entry with a link of your problem?

Best regards,

Hello Garvin,

Yes I mean the "Y!Q Related Search". Please checkout www.blogesl.com. It has this plugin installed and opens ALL links in a new window.

I just reinstalled this plugin and it works fine. All links open in _self. However, as soon as I click on a Yahoo link, then from then on all links whether they are Yahoo or not open in a new window.

In fact this is a bug in the Yahoo!Q javascript code, and not related to serendipity or the serendipity plugin. Sadly you'll need to tell this to the Yahoo guys and describe your error! Then they should be able to fix the javascript that plays with the target attribute of all links.

Best regards,
Garvin

Cheers.
