Error when creating a new static page

When I make a new static page I get the error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: serendipity_emit_htmlarea_code() in (/...../)public_html/serendipity/plugins/serendipity_event_staticpage/serendipity_event_staticpage.php on line 618

The editor does not show up, and I do not have a 'submit' button. I am running version 0.9-beta1 of Serendipity, and it says I have version 2.5 of the static pages plugin installed. Any suggestions about what causes the problem?

the latest version is 2.13

What you mean is the Revision which is another thing than the release-version.
Btw. the latest revision is 1.13, not 2.13.
And the latest release-version, which is the main version of this plugin, is at 1.9.
