private categories

Post by Echelon »

Hi,

Is there a way to mark a category "private" so that someone would have to be on a "whitelist" of usernames to see it? Basically, I want to make a category private except to a list of usernames, so that the person would have to use their username/password to view the entries. I don't want them to have access to change/edit anything, but just to view the entries.

Thanks

This is coming soon to s9y 0.9.

You can already achieve "hidden" categories for certain users/usergroups per-entry in serendipity 0.9 (with the bundled entryproperties plugin). Permission control for categories is on the "soon todo list" and not very hard to do.

The entryproperties plugin is bundled since serendipity 0.8 - "Extended properties of entries" it's called.

In 0.8 it only supports "Can be read by myself/co-authors/everyone", since 0.9-alpha4 it also supports restricting to groups and even to specific users.

I'm useing 0.9 Alpha 5, setting a categories only for co-author,
visitors can't see post in that categories, but still can see the title in recententries plugin(click the title can't see the entries).

Is it possible to hidden the title in recententries plugin?

The recent entries plugin would need to be modified for that, as it doesn't include the queries for Categoriy Permissions.
