I think this is really not very important to change this permlink.
It works with the method the guestbook-plugin uses and this should be enough.
Permalink is handy, but in this case, not paramount! So, focusing on the other key elements is terrific.
My know-how hof PHP is estreamly limited. I've just more experiance in slight modification to suit the current projects needs, and emplimentation of scripts. Otherwise, I'd love to jump on the developers band-wagon too!

Kepp it up!

I agree, not a big thing. Thanks on the other fixes though! What's your next plugin? 8)

hehe... my next plugin? ;)
Well, I've needed such a downloadmanager and so I've created one.

I also need a plugin which makes it possible to run php-code (not a complete script, only pasted code) in a sidebar. Maybe, this is my next plugin...

It would be very fine to get some bugreports if something isn't working.
For example, I'm absolutly not sure, if it runs correctly on a postgresql database.

I've enhanced the version 0.4 now.
It now has support for hiding categories, but there's now difference between general public vs registered users for now.

correction:
I've just released version 0.5 because the many bugfixes and new fuetures are justifying a new release, I think. ;)

Cool beans...

Excellent upgrade! I do have another mime type I added. CAD files are my business. I also noticed that the exe.png file was missing from your new upgrade. Also if I can add a couple of more items on your "ToDo" list, then add the ability to rename catagories and move/copy files from one category to another.

Hi Wizard,

Can you give me the file-extensions of cad-files and perhaps some icons which are likewise as the already shipped icons?

I've never had an icon for exe-files, because I have no windows from which I could get one. If you can make a screenshot of an windows explorer where some icons are shown, it would be nice when you'll send them to me.
[edit]Okay, found a icon for exe-files...[/edit]

Files already can be moved from one category to another. Simply click on a filename in the admincenter. Then you'll be able to enter/modify the description and to move the file to another category.

The renaming of categories will be implemented in 0.6. ;)

Need much more feedback and bughunting!

Post by dma147 »

Hello all,

Okay... I've created this downloadmanager-plugin, because there were many requests for such a plugin.
But now it is finished and absolute stable and only Wizard gives me some feedback. Much thanks to Wizard for this.
It can't be, that there is only Wizard using this pkugin.

I need much more feedback and much more bughunting!
I want to make this downloadmanager-plugin as perfact as s9y is. *g*

Okay guys... The version 0.5 is released since two days and the version 0.6 is already waiting for its release date.
You can find the complete ChangeLog here: to the Changelog

Here is a mostly complete list of the features:
  • User-part uses smarty templates (>=0.6)
  • As many categories and subcategories and sub-subcategories, etc... as you want, no limit!
  • As many downloadable files in every category as you want, no limit!
  • Mime-type icons and -detection for nearly all file-extensions.
  • Upload files via the php-upload-form (up to 5 files at a single blow)
  • Upload files via FTP and import them through the web-interface of the plugin
  • Import files for download from the media library!
  • Hide categories with there complete subtree to the users
  • Show hidden categories to registered users only (>=0.6)
  • permalink and staticpage url available
  • highly configurable (file-icon width/height, labels of the filelist, etc...)
  • normal stuff like moving files from one category to another, renaming categories, etc...
  • no popup when downloading a file!
If you have a feature, which should be implemented or which isn't already implemented, please tell me!

If you find a bug, please tell me either on my blog: http://blog.linux-stats.org as a comment in the appropriate entry for the version you've found a bug in or via email (see the AUTHORS-file of the plugin) or on IRC in the channels #s9y, #linux-stats, #archlinux, #archlinux.de, on the Freenode network (irc.freenode.net).

Well, now have fun with this plugin! ;)

Looks good...

Post by Wizard »

Everything looks good. The mime type additions I'll do myself. Along this line, I noticed that the category and subcategory folder icon is white against my light blue background. Which line of code do I change to make the background color show thru? Looks like the icon is not transparent.

One more wish list item:
Is there a way to have a file show up in more than one category? I wouldn't want to have the file copied obviously to save disc space and have duplicate physical copies to maintain.

Yeah... the folder-icons are not transparent. I'll change this with the next version.
Also the ability to add one file to more than one category.

A first feedback: GOOD WORK!

I will just try the possibilities of this plugin and be willing giving you a feedback :)

At first: Is it possible to show also the file description in instead of the filename in the list?

Regards
Robert
