Loads slowly

Installation of Serendipity was a snap and the plug-ins are great, but the site is slow to load. I have a Mac using OS X with both Safari and IE 5.2 for Mac browsers.

Hmm, the site has about the same pause before loading compared to my
own site, which also happens to run on Mac OS X. I assume your site is
running on your own rig as well? If so, what OS version, Apache, PHP, and
SQL version are you running? Mine's 10.4.2, 1.3.33, 5.04, MySQL 4.1.14.

Oh, and it's running off a Mac mini. How about yours? I'm trying to see how
this pause can be minimized, but it's hard to pinpoint.

Versions:

Mac OS: 10.3.9 (Computer is PowerMac with Dual 1.8 ghz G5s & 1GB mem)
Apache: 1.3
PHP: 4.3.11
mySQL: 4.0.24

Hmm, I guess it's not specific to the Apache / PHP / MySQL installation.
At least that much is confirmed...
