I used the adduser plugin to allow others to post blogs on my site. However, as a "standard editor" they still have access to several items that I would prefer they not have access to, such as: categories and polls. Not to mention, there are several questions that some people may find confusing: like under "Personal Settings" about the WYSIWYG editor.
I guess I would like to know if there is a plugin available that would allow me to select which items an editor saw and/or have access to?
Or can the current plugin be modified?
Thanks!

The plugin allows more granular access when used in conjunction with Serendipity 0.9
It will also be updated in a few hours so that you can define the usergroup a user is put in and use the new privilege system of 0.9

Garvin

Hi Garv, please help me. I don't know if this is the right place, but I guess I'll just try to write here
yesterday I've download all of the adduser plugin, and it's all work, but I have a little problem. My website is a freehosting, without mail server. So if anyone try to register as a user... how can I validate them ? Since your plugin need to send an email to anyone who want to be a member. Can I use another mail server to this ? Or if you don't mind, just remove it. I mean, the email part...
thank you very much...

grayfox: I added a new config option "straight insert" that should do that to you.
William: thanks a lot for your praise
We are very short of people advertising Serendipity and people who can contribute to the documentation of s9y. So if you want to get involved, maybe you can enhance our documentation or just spread the word about Serendipity.
Best regards,
Garvin

That's sad, because I actually never bash WordPress. To each his own, I think both systems have a fairly well coverage and technique.
This is where I see s9y being superior:
* functional and flexible plugin expandability without the hassle of editing the core application files
* standard compliant templating (smarty), embedding of s9y into other frontends
* multilanguage abilities
* BSD-style licensing
* dynamically created pages
* WYSIWYG editing
* Multiple DB support (SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MySQLi)
* Online Plugin Repository for easy plug-and-play installation
* Shared Installation for powering multiple blogs from just one sourcecode
* builtin media database
* cool plugins: Category-based Sub-Blogs, Planet/Aggregator, Static pages/blocks
* Easy upgrading from every version
* Native import of many blog applications (WP, TXP, MT, bblog, ...)
But they are right, we need more templates. But the look is not everything that counts

Fuuu, what exactly do you mean? You can use the Add User Event plugin, as this offers its own Page URL like "http://yourblog/index.php?serendipity[subpage]=adduser" which you can link to from anywhere...?
