"Allow New User Registration" plugin: Not register

Post by csloh »

I am using the "Allow New User Registration" on two sites. I have no problem with the plugin on my commercial server (BLUEHOST), new users have registered and began posting with no problem.

But on a Linux box used just for my class (I am the "noob" server administrator). My students (new users) who registered did not receive any "notification/ activation" email. In fact they are not registered at all, when I checked for new user when logged in as S9y Administrator. Perhaps my own Linux server is lacking something? What are the required components for the Allow New User Registration Plugin to work?

Thanks.

Did you check if a serendipity_pending_authors table exists? That one gets the "pending authors".

Check if your linux server properly supports sendmail and that outgoing emails work.

It's probably the sendmail

I checked the pending authors and it exists. All the students who have tried to registered on the site are all in there! So now I know it's probably the sendmail issue. Thanks, I will work on that. :-)
