Any possibility of being able to export your address book and notes/tasks from Outlook to S9y?

Sure, you can write an output converter that reads the MySQL database.

But what do you want to export exactly? S9y has no address book...?!

Not yet, but I really want to have a complete personal portal where I can go to check all of my emails, read news feeds, find out what homework I have, look at my upcoming calendar. And an address book would fit right into all of that (was just wondering about the possibility or interest, though)

Uh, well. You could do such things with serendipity plugins, yes. But you have to write those plugins, as the serendipity developers only take care about the Blog part, and to an extent about the CMS parts. :)

It would be a nice thing, but then again I am more a fan of seperate applications that are best for their tasks (that means a seperate groupware application, a seperate squirrelmail application, a seperate blog...). Those specilaized tools usually are much better at what they do than a simple version integrated into a central tool...

I am more a fan of taking existing high-quality applications and making them work together (and I never said I wanted someone to do this for me).

I'm sorry, I didn't mean that as an offense! I thought you were actually looking for ready-made stuff, I didn't know you were going to do hands-on yourself. :)

If you get something up and working I'd love if you would share it on the forums! :)

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Garvin
