google cannot find content on my site

Post by MySchizoBuddy »

i'm using google to see if articles on my blog show up there. but they don't. The html of my article is just a skeleton html and doesn't really have the text in the article.

Anyone knows how can i get my site to show up when using google search

What do you mean about the skeleton? What search phrase do you use to search your blog?

Google has its strange ways. :)

I'm searching for this phrase "Virtual Earth and Google Maps Comparison" which is the title of my article. and i don't see my site in the results.
i also tried "Sun Devil Stadium" google maps virtual earth. no match.

should i put in a really weird word in my content and search for it and see if google finds it. If it doesn't then ?

Quicksearch

Post by Wizard »

Sorta along the same lines, QuickSearch doesn't seem to find content from static pages. When I search my site using Quicksearch it returns articles but not static pages that have those words. Any help? and what's up with the calendar arrows? Some times they show up HUGE!

MySchizoBuddy: Google only catches up your articles every few days - until you get included in the search results it might take some time.

google also only indices you if you are linked on some other sites, so that google knows your page is important. There's much voodoo involved until your site gets recognized by Google...and nothing much to do about it. :-/

Wizard: Yes, the quicksearch doesn't search through those contents. It would be hard to intermix the results of staticpages on the result page, as they are not recognized as "articles".

The large calendar arrows sometimes happen in InternetExplorer. This is because the IE has no proper PNG support. But transparent PNGs are only around since about 5 years, and other browsers only show them for about 4 years - so it might just take Microsoft another 4 years until they get it implemented. ;-)

Proper support for PNG is coming in IE7. So, that's 2 years, I'll say.

Google seems to index my pages pretty fast, but it's because I have Google
AdSense running in them, and that the domain itself had been around for
over 3 years. And, oh, there's robots.txt on the base directory. Maybe I'll
add some META tags, but I hear Google doesn't take them seriously
anymore.
I make s9y plugins, too.
My s9y blog depends on them. :)
