Hello all,
I was wondering if I can add a new article that can be chosen not to show on serendipity's main page but only in categories. Is this possible with some plug-in that I may have not found? Or how can this be achieved anyway?
For some reason that this article may not be a news ( my s9y is mainly used as a news board) so I don't want them to show up upon every visit to my blog. These articles may only be visible in some category.
Thanks a lot in advance. And please excuse me if this is a dumb question because I am new to s9y. Thanks.

Yes, using the "Extended properties of entries" plugin you can achieve that. I am not sure, but the functionality may exist only in version 0.9 of Serendipity!
When you have that plugin activated, you should get an "advanced properties" box when editing an entry. There will be be a checkbox "do not show on frontpage", which you need to check. The checkbox is near the options "allow to read entry: myself, co-authors, everyone".
Have fun,

There also is a plugin that allows you to define just one category on the startpage. (start page category plugin) so with the category assignment plug, that allows you to assign entries to multiple categories, you can define a startpage category and just show this in the main page. and then just put every entry you want to show up in that category (of course they can also appear in other categories then). the only thing is: then you have to add the new entries to that category each time, because if they only belong to some other cat. they wont show up on the startpage.
Its a bit like a workaround, but youll have full control of the startpage.
