HTML Nugget Plugin Problem: Help!
Hello,
I am new at this.
I am trying to add Google Ad Sense and Site Meter.
I found the HTML nugget plug in.
I added the Ad Sense Code in the box and indicated that it was to be placed at ottom of the content
I added the Site Meter code in the box and indicated it was to be placed at the bottom of the page
I disabled markup transformations.
Nothing however is showing up.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Dr. Alan J. Lipman

I'm assuming you're using 'HTML Nugget on Page' one.
What plugins do you use other than this?
Also, can we see your website?
And... have you tried to put only one of those stuff?
And... do regular HTML codes show up okay?
And... have you tried other locations to see if they show up?
BTW, the 'end of the page' doesn't work unless you use the 0.9 alpha
of s9y (I have noted this specifically on README). Good thing is, I've
backported necessary codes into 0.8 branch so this can be used in in the
upcoming 0.8.3 release as well. So you probably need to wait a bit if you
want that 'Site Meter' code to show up at the end of the page. I have a
feeling if you move it to, say, 'bottom of the content', it SHOULD show up
even now.
I have AdSense code used with the Nugget on Page plugin (well, that's
one of the reasons why I made the plugin in the first place) set to show
on 'footer of the article' without problems. I tried 'bottom of the page'
and that worked too.

Your help...
Worked!
Now displaying irrelevant ads for Serendipity hot chocolate, but still...
So is it the case that you can only display one html nugget, then? So if I also wanted to add blog ads that would not be possible?
Thanks

How about implementing a less wide ad banner? You can choose what size
a banner to display by customizing the layout code. I personally use the
smaller 468x60 one for horizontal banner.
Also, it's possible to use several HTML nuggets on the page. I have three
on my website, and I'm using sidebar HTML nuggets as well in addition to
that. However, there's a possibility of javascipt clashing with each other.
I'm not sure how many simultaneous ad banners could be placed on a
website. It's not the matter of the plugin, though.
It's like this... try placing ALL the banners into one nugget just to see if
they work out.

So to do that...
So to post several nuggets at once, would I:
Put them all into the same "box"--that is, once I have entered the HTML Nugget plugin, can I put several different nuggets into the box marked
"Content The Nugget of HTML!"
Or, if I do each once separately, with a different location for each, does the second one wipe out the first, third wipe out the second, etc.?

all work together, just to make sure. If they do, you could separate them
(put them into different nuggets). The nuggets shouldn't wipe each other
out in any circumstances: they're stand-alone by themselves, so if one is
affecting the other it would've occurred even if they were put into one
place.

I found the HTML nugget plug in.
Where ????
I've found the code for the plugin in the include/plugin_internal.inc.php file but in reading the forum posts it sounds like there is an easier place to configure the HTML.
However that plugin doesn't show up in the admin are under configure plugins. Obviously I have just started using Serendipity and am still finding my way around...
Any suggestions ?

Pablo, what exactly do you want to do? The plugin must be in the config area, check "sidebar plugins". Depending on your language, the plugin may have a different name. Search for any plugins containing "HTML".

Well, the one that's integrated to s9y is the sidebar plugin. The one we were
talking about here is a separate plugin I created called 'HTML Nugget on
Page'. This has to be downloaded separately (e.g. via Spartacus or just
from SourceForge CVS one by one) and is found under event plugins.
This was because there needed to be HTML nuggets placed not just on the
sidebar, but somewhere else on the blog as well. And this was my solution.
To add plugins, don't edit the plugin_internal.php. Use the admin interface
as garvin has mentioned instead.

sidebar plugins
The plug ins installed and available in Side bar plug in onfigure screen were administration, contents, calender, archive, syndication, powered by and the uninstalled ones were
Markup: serendipity, emoticate and NL2Br
as well as browser compatability and spam protector.
I didn't see HTML nugget.
What I thought the plug in was for for would be to create HTML coding in the side bar to put a graphic or ad or other menu etc etc...

I don't think you're looking at this right. The ones at the top are the installed
'sidebar' plugins. The ones at the bottom are the installed 'event' plugins,
not 'uninstalled' sidebar plugins. The page you're looking at shows the
installed ones. There are two types of plugins: sidebar and event.
The whole list of plugins you can install are available by clicking the
"Click here to install a new sidebar plugin" link (in case of sidebar plugins).
That's where you'll see the HTML nugget for the sidebar.
Can you see how the whole thing works now? You have correct understand-
ing of what the HTML nugget does, but you've got the plugin configuration
confused a bit.
