Hi,
I'm trying to figure oyut why I am getting a "No Trackback URI message"?
Is this right:
1) Copy the "trackback URI" from the article in siteA.
Put that as a link in the article on siteB.
publishing that article s9y does the trackback operation but on the receiving end, there is something not working.
Where did I go wrong?
Can't get trackback to work?

Re: Can't get trackback to work?
The "target blog" needs to support the full Trackback API. It needs thoseHTML "RDF" snippets that can also be found in your s9y blog.
IF the target blog does not support that,it does not support the full trackback API. You can force sending trackbacks then by usingthemanual trackback event plugin.
On s9y.org there's also documentation on trackbacks to see which link you need to copy...
I.e. for trackbacking a serendipity article you just need to enter the full URL to /archives/65-test.html

Garvin

Hi Garvin,
I'll look at the docs again. I'm afraid I don't understand your example, but let me clarify what I see. I tried a trackback to an external blog, that is, I copied a link from someone else's site to a blog entry on mine. The URI was found, so presumably that worked fine.
Ok, I've completely changed this post because now I see what the problem was.
The trackback links are in the hidden declarations in each article and in fact, the URL to include is a simple link (now I see what you meant). The doc doesn't make this obvious - what fooled me was the "Trackback Link" in the article. I expected to copy that and paste it into the entry.
