Installation of new donloaded plugins

I cant install new downloades pluings. How must I do that ?

You have two possibilites: Manual Download or use Spartacus.

Manual Download:

1. Download the plugin file from CVS (see links on www.s9y.org)

2. Unpack the file in your /plugins serendipity directory with its directory structure

3. Install the new plugin via "Plugin Manager" -> "Click here to install plugin"

Spartacus Dwonload:

1. Go to Plugin Manager and install the "SPARTACUS" plugin

2. Now you have a new link "click here to install plugin from the web". Click on that, the rest is self-explaining

To use spartacus your server needs to support outgoing HTTP connections (this is usual) and your /plugin directory must be world-writable 777 (writable for the webserver user)

When I install a plugin via Spartacus I get the following message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /var/www/html/serendipity/include/admin/plugins.inc.php on line 664

Are you seeing error messages before that? You usually get this kind of errors if Spartacus cannot connect to other Hosts or if writ epermissions are not set to the /plugins directory.
