(Context: This is a brand new Serendipity instance. It was loaded via Softaculous on the Bluehost hosting service.)
If I create a new User for someone, while logged in as Chief Editor, it shows all three default Groups.
It doesn't allow me to choose only Standard Editor for the new User.
Is there a plugin I need to activate, or some other setting, to enable the selection, please?
Thanks!

Re: Setting new user groups
UPDATE: I tried Subscribe for a new user, on another computer ...
Subscribe at https://imperfectchristians.net is failing.
Thanks!

What do I need to do to fix this, please? This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
Thanks!
Re: Setting new user groups
On GitHub they explained that this is "... a link to the RSS or Atom feed (which in fact is an XML file without style information). You can use that link to subscribe with a feed reader like Feedly."
I should have recognized the symbol - my bad. Also, the associated text should be less vague.
NOTES
1. To remove the RSS "Subscribe" - go to sidebar plugins and remove that one.
2. For people to subscribe to the blog - add that sidebar plugin & edit it to preference.

It really is a pity that browsers have refused to present the RSS feeds more clearly :(
But have a look at feedly or another feed reader and subscribe to your blog. That subscription uses that RSS file. That way all of this will be quite clear soon.

I'm unclear as to the purpose of the RSS feed, in this use case.
I've always thought of 'feeds' in terms of news feeds.
I don't want that for this.

A RSS feed is a file that is stored on your server. Every time you write a new entry that file gets updated. Feed readers are special programs (or websites) that regularly download that file and look for new entries, which they then present to their users.
It's a way to enable readers to be notified of new entries on your blog (and without it, a blog is just a website, not a blog).

Re: Setting new user groups - Solved
Wow, OK, thanks.
It was many years ago and I can't explain how I 'mis-remembered' the purpose of a RSS.
So, a user would install a RSS 'feed reader' in order to view changes in a timely manner.
I need to provide a RSS feed so there's something there for them to read.
Am I understanding it correctly now?
I really appreciate your help!

Yes, your explanation is perfect :)
