So, in the time since posting, I've decided to rework--and simplify--my website.
And in particular, as I have my blog posted elsewhere--in text on TIGSource and in video on YouTube--there seems little point in maintaining it in an additional location. Thus, as part of reworking things, I've decided to remove the blog from my site.
But let this not be a disparagement of Serendipity! I've been using it for some years now, and overall I've been very happy with it!
So, let me part by saying: Thank you to the devs for Serendipity, and for it being overall so good a blogging platform and the experience of it (for me, at least) in general a positive one! ^_^

I've been using Serendipity for some time now, and have been overall very happy with it.
Now, for quite some time I hadn't updated my installation, as attempting to do so always failed.
But today, in going to update another plugin, I noticed that there was an update for the updater. I installed that, attempted to update--and it seemed to work!
Now, on the update page there was a link, near the bottom, which seemed to indicate that it should be clicked as part of the process; I'm afraid that I don't recall the text of that link.
I clicked on it... and my website went blank. Completely blank--not just lacking internal content, but lacking anything.
Note that this affects both the front-end and the back-end; nothing seems to work any more. :/
No error is reported (at least on-page), save on mobile, where I get an "Error 500" screen.
I had hoped that just leaving it for a while might help, thinking that perhaps some element of the update process was still running in the background--but so far no change has been seen.

Does anyone know what might have caused this, and how to fix it...?
(I do still have FTP access, so if there are any files that should be examined or altered I should be able to do so.)
