subscription broken?

I heard about complainments in comments "Subscribe to this entry", which shall not work in 1.6.
Is that true and did we fix that already?

Where did you hear that? What are the configuration options? Maybe the subscription is used with the double-opt in process, and that one doesn'T work or is not properly understood?

It was Jannis. I dont know more about it.
Double-Opt In for comment subscriptions is set to YES. Its a US Blog. Do they need this option?

I personally never worked with that before, so I can't tell what happens. But there seems to be a missing information to the comment user he has to double opt-in first to get entry comments by mail.

Hi!

Where did he mention that? When double opt in is enabled, the users who want to subscribe first need to click an approval link in the email they get after subscribing to an entry. Depending on the anti-spam settings this might also be relevant.

They get an email about this fact... at least that's how it should work (and did when I last tested it )

Yes, that might be and I trust you telling me it works. But AFAIS there is no information about this on the entry comments site. That may be the issue itself. I expect Jannis just did not had a look into his emailaccount when complaining about the missing subscribed comment mails...
