Login link missing

Post by TomStartup »

Hello there
I use Serendipity to blog on my website: www.economics-maths-tutor.com, http://economics-maths-tutor.com/test1/ ... /index.php.

Recently I have become unable to login to my administrative area to post new blogs and so on. The link to the login appears to be missing or corrupted in some way. It used to be: http://economics-maths-tutor.com/test1/login/index.php.

But now that leads to the following message:

"Moved Temporarily

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@economics-maths-tutor.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I have no idea why this is or what to do about it. My webhosts are more or less useless and deny that they can help me.

Would be very grateful for any help. Please note I am not technically very savvy (can't code or anything) but am capable of following clear instructions!

Best wishes

Tom

This seems to be a somewhat patched Serendipity version.

Code: Select all

<meta name="generator" content="Rvglobalsoft" />
You should contact "Rvglobalsoft", who patched this version. We can not support patched versions, as we don't know what was patched.

But from first look there seems to be some global redirection on your server. The admin page should be available at

http://economics-maths-tutor.com/test1/ ... _admin.php

.. but this link is redirecting to http://economics-maths-tutor.com/test1

Smells like RVSiteBuilder, which (unfortunately) we can in fact not support since they never cared to report back what they actually patched.

Thanks chaps for your quick replies. I will contact RVSitebuilder, whicg incidentally i find very clunky and difficult to use, as well as being not very secure....

I am hoping that they will be of some use or I am stuck.

If they give you access to the file system on their server and database access, you can directly install and maintain serendipity yourself.

Interestingly, the error does not occur on my end, so it cannot be a bug! :o
