Keep Getting a 403: Forbidden Message

HELP! For the past week, I keep getting this message when I try to log in to Serendipity

403: Forbidden

This error message is generated when the web server is trying to access a file that does not exist or has been configured incorrectly


Troubleshooting suggestions:

Ensure that you have a valid home page defined in your website directory (example: /htdocs/index.html, /htdocs/index.php). On Unix, this is case sensitive and must be all lower case.

In your Account Manager, under Hosting Tools, click to .Reset File Permissions..

Resetting the file permissions doesn't work. I use Network Solutions as my hosting site. Is the problem with them or is it a Serendipity problem? I am frustrated with Network Solutions as it takes the FOREVER to get back to me. I don't know what else to do!

Hi!

You might want to check back with your hoster, maybe the enabled some security module or changed something on your web setup.

If you have FTP access, check the serendipity_admin.php script if it is readable for the webserver user.

This is very unlikely a Serendipity issue, but rather a hosting setup issue.
