Hi,

Anybody with same or differing experience?

supersized.org down?
Ciao, Stephan
Re: supersized.org down?
http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/supersized.org confirms this. Might be due to all the recent server trouble/migration. Probably just temporary.stm999999999 wrote:Anybody with same or differing experience?

Yeah, the server was unexpectedly moved by the company who's sponsoring the servers, but it's back up. Sorry for the inconvenience, but now we're all on new hardware, stuff should run smoother.
Re: supersized.org down?
Same question again: can't reach supersized blog. Tried for a few days now. Very sad. Wazzup?

Re: supersized.org down?
sorry for the inconvenience, some hardware died again - we ended up replacing everything except for the harddrives. everything's up on fresh hardware again.
i predict the disks are next to fail, but not within the next six months *fingers crossed*

Re: supersized.org down?
Is registering new blogs still possible?
How long will this service exist? I'm a little afraid, that I start my blog over there and your shutting the free service down anytime in the future

Hi!
I believe I can speak for Jannis that if the service ever were to shut down, all of you would be able to get a SQL dump to migrate your blog otherwhere.
Since what Jannis does is free, I'm sure he can't really give any guarantees about how long it will last. But it's worked for several years now. If you really, really want to be sure about your content and data, of course you should always host the blog yourself. Every other free service could also always shutdown due to unforeseen issues, you'd never know.
Regards,
Garvin
