Quicksearch not searching again with *

I didn't have a look in the code yet. But I know I patched the quicksearch-plugin to search again if not enough results are shown with an appended *. Seems like a change not so long ago broke that functionality.

I think its working as expected:
s9y - no go, not 4 and up
s9* - no go, not 4 and up
s9y* - found xyz

or did you mean, found more than x results, rewind search?

Maybe I ran into the less than 3 chars limit. Will have a second look.
