Twitter plugin problems

I have noticed the following:

• * Entries are announced via twitter when saved, and option to announce is enabled (which is expected).
  * Entries are NOT announced when published if entry is given a future date.
  * Entries are NOT announced if entry was originally set to not announce, then revised to announce via twitter.

It is as if the condition of whether to announce or not is only checked when initially created/saved, rather than if revised or published at a future date.

That's probably due to technical limitations on the twitter side. As far as I know, there is just one way of "scheduling" a tweet (which one would have to do to announce entries published in the future at the correct time) -- using the TweetDeck twitter client (they run a seperate service for that, I think).

Tweeting revisions of the same entry would be a real annoyance in most cases.

I would hope we could figure something out for future dated entries at least.... those entries have not yet been published when first saved..... when the future date/time arrives, that is when the entry should be announced via twitter and is not.

While I agree retweeting entries with minor revisions could be annoying, I was specifically referring to a revision that merely changed the announce option to YES, when originally set to NO.
