SEO

Post by toves »

Hi,

I'm currently updating my website and was considering using wordpress because of all the SEO plugins it has, but I'd prefer to stay with serendipity - I just wondered how does it compare SEO wise?

Disclaimer: I am not an expert in SEO. In fact, I consider it to be a waste of time. :)

Basically, any blog with a good setup shouldn't need much SEO. Just make sure you use proper HTML markup, search engine friendly URLs, get incoming links etc. and you should be good to go. Of course, it depends on the topic(s) you're actually covering how far up this will get you in the rankings.

We also have some plugins which might not be labelled "SEO something" but will definitely help you improve SEO. Freetag, related links, HTML meta tags etc. Apart from that, there's not much to tell you unless you name the actual aspects of your site which you'd like to optimize.
