I'm thinking about replacing my old pc for a new Mac. I presume Serendipity runs on both, but since I built my current website on my old pc, will that be a problem if I'm going to work with a Mac (since they have different operating systems)? I mean, will the software run properly, will I still have normal access to my site etc.?
Do you mean you host serendipity on your PC? Apache/PHP/MySQL also works on OSX, but not like XAMPP as far as I know.
If you use the PC only as a client, using MacOS makes rarely a difference and will function just as well in OSX.

Hehe. that's a philosophical question. There are millions of threads on forums all over the internet that discuss pro's and con's of MacOS.
I myself made the switch to OSX 3 months ago, and I'm quite happy with it. But I wasn't unhappy with windows before. There are things that are better now, and certain things that are worse now. In general, for couchsurfing I prefer MacOS X now. For working, I still use WinXP inside a VM and I'm not yet completely used to the new keyboard shortcuts so that I work less productive now.
