Upgrading Serendipity is insanely easy!

Hello all. No complaints here - actually quite the opposite. I just had the absolute pleasure of upgrading my s9y blog for the first time and...well...holy moley I can't believe how easy it was!!! Unzip the tarball over existing directory, go to admin page, click "Yes please do so.", DONE!! Seriously?? That's freakin awesome!!! Kudos to whomever is in charge of the s9y upgrade feature - dang.

That's great to hear!

Some people often raise the wish to upgrade serendipity from the application itself, but IMHO this can often lead to problems with timeouts on the server, and it might require higher privilege access to the server, and might make your FTP login exposed to attackers on the site.

So I'm happy to hear that our way of you having to upload the file bundle is also quite easy. Especially if you have shell access to just unzip the archive, and let s9y do the rest of the database upgrades.
