Apparently, you are correct. Google Wireless Transcoder is a feature that must be built-in to the Windows Mobile IE browser, where it automatically modifies the HTML to be "mobile-friendly."

I found this site handy: http://www.micro-sys.dk/services/http-user-agent/

My Windows Mobile 5 Internet Explorer browser uses this user agent ID:

Code: Select all

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; Google Wireless Transcoder;)

iFrames and PPC Browsers

I have a Windows Mobile 5 PPC (HP iPAQ) and am using the default Internet Explorer browser. It does not support iFrames. This means I can view my blog fine with my PPC but I cannot add/edit entries. I did install the POPFetcher plugin which is handy. However, it does not give you all the power of ...

POPFetcher Plugin: Restrict E-Mail Sender

I like the POPFetcher plugin but I found an annoyance/bug with it's feature allowing you to restrict the E-Mail sender. Most email clients will put the user's name in the From: field along with the email address. Doing so means your POPFetcher configuration must match it exactly.

Could POPFetcher ...

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try them out soon. Forgive my style sheet ignorance but why should I even need to change the widths? If anything, I thought Firefox would be the better-looking. Is there something in the new s9y code which has been overlooked?

Thanks for the help! I messed around a bit more and manually uploaded the plugin as you described. That made it work after removing some "junky error" plugin installs. I am up-and-running with Newsbox.

I notice Newsbox is very similar to Sticky Posts, which keeps any entry at the top of the page. I ...

Hi,

I just installed Geotag Google Map to my site, www.briarhood.com.

A data point for information is that I recently just upgraded to s9y-1.1. The fact that I can install plugins and not Newsbox is peculiar.

I am using Spartacus-2.9, both settings are Netmirror.org, the rest of the fields are blank.

Spartacus works for other plugins that are not bundled with s9y. The serendipity_event_newsbox directory was not created. It is a strange thing, indeed!

Sidebar Widths Different in IE7 and FF2

I like the new s9y-1.1 sidebar columns on the left and right sides of the articles. I see a problem in that Firefox-2 does not display the columns in the same way as IE7 (IE7 actually looks correct).

I use a Link List plugin on the left and various plugins on the right. The Link List plugin in FF2 ...

Problems Installing Newsbox

Hi all,

I am running serendipity-1.1 and PHP-4.4.4, my site is on a remote hosting service so my sysadmin capabilities are limited :) I am trying to install the Newsbox-0.5 plugin (via Spartacus) and am seeing strange errors; I am able to install other plugins, my directories have permissions of ...

Static pages to show RSS feeds

I want to create a static page which contains all my favorite RSS feeds. I like the sidebar RSS plugin but if I have too many it will make the sidebar too long.

Is it easy/straightforward to make the static page automatically grab the feeds? I do not mean to just have the RSS feed link, I would ...

I upgraded to s9y-0.8.2 and everything with the Static Pages works fine. First I installed the Static Pages Event Plugin, then I installed the Static Pages Sidebar Plugin.

Thanks for the help! I like this plugin a lot, it is exactly what I needed.

Do you have an example of what the static page plugin can do?

I am running s9y-0.8beta2 and installed the event plugin, then I tried installing the sidebar plugin and got the below errors. When I get hope I will upgrade to the latest version.

Non-blog page using s9y style, possibly the sidebar, too

I use s9y for my main website. I wanted to have a link to a page which I would write with HTML but is not a blog, yet still uses the same style so it looks like a seamless transition.

Do I just refer to templates/default/styles.css when writing my custom html?

Is there a way to implement the ...
