I did the same thing.
Except I intentionally renamed serendipity_config.inc.php as serendipity_config.inc.php_original thinking I needed to protect mine from being overwritten. Doh!

Event plugin duplicate installation

When you install a new sidebar plugin, it puts you back on the configure plugins page. But, the url for this page is actually the link to add the plugin.

Example:
/serendipity_admin.php?serendipity[adminModule]=plugins&serendipity[pluginPath]=serendipity_event_templatechooser&serendipity[install ...

Two funky situations with incorrect urls

By default, the .htaccess configuration is setup such that urls that would result in a 404 are just servered the index page.
From my .htaccess (serendipity lives at /blog/)
ErrorDocument 404 /blog/index.php

This might seem like a good idea, but for search engines its not a good one. Potentially ...

Email address in xml feeds

This isn't technically a bug, but I don't really like the fact that in the xml feeds my email address is in there, unobsfucated. Shouldn't this be something that is turnoffable?

Yeah, I hadn't thought about that page X of Y issue.

Hmm...I just really hate it when google links to a page that when the user goes there doesn't have the content they were looking for.

Just curious, what sort of directives are you talking about? I understand that the way things are setup now you ...

garvinhicking wrote:Thanks a lot. I removed the irrelevant LIMIT 1!

The userlevel is just there as an extra precaution against abuse for using the API function on non-authorised users.
Except that your checking the userlevel of the user you are deleting, not the current user.

Oops! ;)

1) Ok, thanks.

2) Hehe...actually I decided to use PostgreSQL because I figured there weren't too many people testing it. ;)

3) Excellent. I was going to ask that question about the use of sequences too, but couldn't come up with good reasoning why to use sequences, so I didn't mention it.

Some new sidebar logos

I didn't like the sidebar logo that came with serendipity.

So I made some of my own.
Any suggestions/comments?

previous/next pages change too often.

Ok, at the bottom of the index page there is a next page link.

This links /archives/P2.html. This page links to P3 and you get the idea.

This means that if someone links to an archive page (P8.html for example) the content they were linking to will likely slide off that page after 15 (or whatever ...

Delete a user (postgresql) has invalid sql

When i went to delete a user it puked (see bottom)

I am running postgresql 7.4 something. The limit clause is not valid on a delete statement. Also why is there a userlevel clause?

The statement (as far as I can tell) should just be.

DELETE FROM serendipity_authors WHERE authorid=3

Error ...

DB schema changes/tweaks

I just did an install of serendipity and I had a few questions/comments/bugs.

1) The username field in the serendipity should have unique constraint. I understand that the authorid file is the pkey, but wierd things happen when you have two authors with the same username. This happened because I ...
