Ok, I will check that. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I removed the backslashes in the "paths" section and now my Serendipity works like a charm :D

Well, I re-ran the installation... This time I choose the "Expert installation" and to my surprise I found the backslashes in the "paths" section.

I don't know why, but never the less, there they are right from the start.
I guess something isn't correct in my settings (php? Apache?) but I don't ...

Well, I didn't use any backslashes?!?! I don't know where they are coming from. At least I am not aware of using any.

And as I said, I can log in to the admin interface but when trying to use any link I get thrown out to the login page again. It dosn't matter if I use the www. or not, neither to ...

Extra slashes messing up links

Hello,

I've got a problem with "extra" slashes. There are booth forward and backslashes resulting in a number of problems.

In Opera, only the frontpage works but with no stylesheet attached (looking really bad). I can't use the admin interface since the url is http://fagerashojd.info/%5C/index.php ...

Success!!

I guess the server needed a restart. After that there was no problem to copy all files and install.

So, the problem was at my end, a busy server or a hard disc drive going bezerk :x

Anyway, sorry for taking time from you Gavin, but in the end you pointed me in the right direction ...

Garvin, I suspect that your initial thought were right.
When I came home I checked the files and folders. And yes, there are files missing, for example .js files...

I'll try to re-install, since I don't know what's missing.

I tried that, same result.
Maybe I should start all over, a clean install to see if the problem persists?

Uh? Strange! It doesn't load that slow here and I have never seen any SQL errors!?!?

And no, I'm not sitting on the same network as the server:wink: I'm currently at work (in Sweden) and our internet traffic here is routed via Finland. Very strange indeed... :?

I get a IE message "Error on page" and when viewing the description it states "'HTMLArea' is undefined".

I use Serendipity 1.4 / PHP 5.2.3 / Apache2

I have no clue how to ...
