based on the file mod, it will not survive a serendipity version update, but, one step at a time, i suppose.
godaddy, although not the most 'robust' hosting solution, is certainly cost-effective, and increasingly popular.
perhaps the author(s) can cleverly add ...

You'Ve enabled URL rewriting, then those URLs are shown. Go to serendipity_admin.php, to the configuration and change "URL Rewriting" to "none".

i've installed s9y 12a2 @ "http://me.com/s9y/".
when i navigate to that URL, as expected, i _do_ see the correctly displayed 'frontpage'.
in the page's bottom right corner, the "Open login screen" link leads to "http://me.com/s9y/admin", which does not exist.
i've missed a setting, i guess -- but ...

i'm doing a 1st-time install of s9y.
i've a shared hosting acct (fwiw, @ goaddy.com),
http://mydomain.com
i've mapped multiple subdomains to subfolders, e.g.,
http://subdomain.mydomain.com -->
/full/ftp/path/to/host/account/subdomain
i've got apache redirects mappping
to http ...
