Could you not just have it go something like this?

find ( first timestamp in august )

for ( first entry in august to last entry ) {
increment archive total + 1
}

Surely it doesn't matter about the categories as the archive section is all about the number of entries between ...

I had this problem once, I reinstalled all plugins from scratch and moved the Exit tracker one higher and it all seems to work.

Can you not adjust the XML output for your board in the configuration area and then feed that into a aggregator or layout program at the desired destination

'Extended properties for entries' plugin I am able to hide the comic entries from the frontpage but since I have hidden the comic category aswell there is no sign of them to the general public.

There is a plugin called " Category Assignment" that allows you to give a post more than one catagory.
To use it when posting you'll need to expand the catagory option to show more/all of the catagoryes available and (ctrl) click the extra cats.
