Making sidebar wider

Hi, I searched but couldn't find. I want to make the sidebar wider in blue-iceberg theme.

I put width=250px in the sidebar tag and it works fine in Firefox but has no effect in IE.

How can I make it work in both browsers?

Thanks....carl

INCLUDE_ERROR

I got this error today, so searched and found other posts about the same error.

Went to: serendipity_config_local.inc.php

The permissions were set to: 644 in cpanel.

I just re-entered: 644 again and it works fine now.

Strange! don't know what went wrong.

Strange Image behavior in IE- fixed

Update: I shut off the hotlink protection and it works normal. Strange why it works in FF, Opera, Netscape browsers.

The thumbnail images for themes and "powered by" image shows up for half a second and disappears in IE. Everything else is ok text etc.

Perfect in Firefox.

Thanks...carl

That is good to hear about upgrading.

One more question:

I understand plugins are used for lots of things but to change the font size, font color etc. do I edit the CSS of the template directly?

Thanks!...carl

Is upgrading easy?

I'm running 0.9.1 now and was wondering when the new version 1.0 comes out of beta if the upgrade is easy. (minimal risk, LOL)

Hi Carl,
I started with Wordpress only because that's what came up in a search about blogs. I've since tried maybe 5-6 other systems.

I discovered Serendipity a couple days ago by just Googling around. When I installed it, it immediately stood out as ahead of the rest, especially the unique image ...

I feel foolish. I came from Wordpress where you go into style.css, and do everything there.

This is a really neat system and can't wait till I learn more about it.

Thanks a lot, carl

Change right sidebar to left

Couldn't find exactly how to change a right sidebar to the left side.
Also, three column themes show as two columns.

OK, thanks. Wasn't aware of the security issues. I got the idea when I installed HUGE Gallery2.

They have something called a "pre-installer" which you upload and then it gets the zip at the source, unzips it and brings up the install wizard.

The whole thing took about 5 minutes.

Thanks...carl

Unzipping at the server

Hello,
Wondering if it's possible to upload the zipped file to the server and unzip it there?

This would greatly cut down on the FTP'ing time.

Thanks...carl

Hi Garvin,
Yes, I'm using the very lastest Firefox. It does have a obstinate way of handling passwords and caches.

Thanks...Serendipity is great, having a ball playing with it. Wish I had come upon it much earlier.

Ok, I fixed it. I don't know if it was a bug or not.

Here's what I did:

I had to go to phpmyadmin and made a new password by deleting the MD5 string and typing in a new password.

Clicked MD5 in the drop down box to make another hash string.

Changed the Realname

Changed to Username

Was able to ...
