some details on custom startpage
it looks like this:

[image] some text (this could be done with static page content, so no need for new plugin)

I recommend section:
(links that are recommended) - this is one of the items i am talking about - needs new plugin on which startpage will depend - it ...

I am working on my blog theme and I am in a process of trying to make my current blog theme available to all.

Important part of it is its custom startpage.

At the moment the content of startpage is changed by manually changing .tpl file (which is OK for me)

However, I would like to provide some ...

this is something that interests me too

i might take a look at it soon and post some plugin (or more probably patch/hack :roll: ) to have those stats

the problem that I am not sure how to solve is this:
actually how to track separate visitors
not all rss readers understand cookies etc
i might ...

while this is OK and is working, it would still be nice if we could use some custom (rewritten) url

I will try that hackish thing and report

edit:
reporting: it works

i had this problem and after debugging $_SESSION, $_POST, $_SERVER vars I found no reasons for the problem

just before I quit, i made logout+login procedure
and it works now

strange

the problem has occured after activating buletproof template

maybe it will be easer for you to find SMF to phpBB converter and then use s9y converter from phpBB
I made search on phpbb forums and it looks like there are a few SMF -> converters

(as always, make backups before doing anything)

yep, that was the case
thanks

also a quick way to stop most commenters would be to remove 'add comment' link from the tpl

http://blog.robi-bobi.net/archives/242-Serendipity-how-to-highlight-owners-comment.html
(design is a little broken - under reconstruction, don't pay attention)

I suggest you to use css class serendipity_comment_author_self - which should do what you want, but I am not sure when this class is ...

hm, strange problem

i have following setup (latest SVN):
staticpage set as homepage
blog language is set to bulgarian
this works

but when I set my User language to english
the homepage is reverted to list of posts when viewed with my user

no big deal, just to let you know

snippet from my template for customized homepage, showing latest entries and most commented entries from last month

if someone needs it, here it is:

<div id="latest_posts">
<div class="one_box">
<h4 class="summary_title">Latest entries</h4>
{serendipity_fetchPrintEntries limit="5" template ...

I agree, just that that way you are not going to see what other visitors see on frontend (actually, this is something I can live with -just logout)

cool

I actually assigned one var in my custom.tpl and then make
{if $show_sidebars != 'false' }
in index.tpl

ah, and yes: please if it is easy make possible to choose one language for admin, and another for frontend

if this is not possible, then consider showing both custom and english language plugin names

others have already mentioned what i wanted to write:

better multilingual support (compatible with pretty URLs)
CMS-like behavior (static pages etc)
( when i mentioned static pages - easy way to have default homepage changed to static page AND have nice URL for posts page )
better default WYSIWYG ...
